Leslie Cabinet Specifications
MIDI sound module voice-sounds are called "Patches", from the ancient systems that created voicing with actual patch-cords.
Although many custom instalations differ widely from the "standard", manufacturers of sound modules for general use want their
equipment to behave "as expected, just better." In the interest of sounding a piano when a piano is expected, and a trumpet when a trumpet is expected,
the manufaturers settled on a standard set of patches, "General MIDI Level I."
General MIDI Level 1 Instrument Patch Map
The names of the instruments indicate what sort of sound will
be heard when that instrument number is selected on the GM1 sound module.
The General MIDI Level 1 instrument sounds are grouped by
families. In each family are 8 specific instruments.
